LUFTRAUSERS has arrived on the Epic Games Store as a free-to-keep giveaway, giving PC players a new way to pick up Vlambeer's side-view arcade shooter. In each run, a single fighter plane takes on a large enemy fleet, and the aim is to survive long enough to set a high score and complete mission objectives.

The game is a shoot 'em up built around aerial combat against enemy jets, battleships, submarines, and rival aces. Before taking off, players assemble a plane from more than 125 combinations of bodies, weapons, and propulsion systems, and each build changes how the aircraft handles and fights. More than 100 missions give those repeated attempts extra structure.

Devolver Digital published the original release on March 18, 2014, and the game holds a Metacritic score of 80, with IGDB recording 80 from critics and 79 from users. It suits players who enjoy fast combat encounters and repeated attempts to improve their performance.

Before the 2014 release, the studio made a smaller browser game called Luftrauser, and the commercial version expanded that idea into a fuller arcade experience.
